A 221B is a unique form of microfiction developed by Holmesian writers. It is comprised of exactly 221 words, and the final word of the piece begins with the letter “b.” Prose poems in this format are also considered 221Bs.

Yes! WHEN THE ROSE SPEAKS ITS NAME will predominantly use British English, though exceptions will be made as needed. Please refer to our style guide for details.

what publication rights do you require?

We require exclusive publication rights for all works included in the anthology for ninty (90) days from the date of publication. After 90 days, all publication rights revert to the creator. If you choose to submit work that has been previously published, please ensure the rights have reverted to you and provide us with first publication details. Works previously published on fanwork sites are welcome so long as they are based on the original canon.

WHERE WILL THE ANTHOLOGY BE PUBLISHED?

WHEN THE ROSE SPEAKS ITS NAME will be published in both ebook and hard copy. They will be available via Amazon, Lulu, smashwords, draft2digital, Apple Books, and Barnes and Noble. Additional distribution channels are being considered and will be added if possible.
